Trying to find out how to turn off "breadcrumbs" in Windows Explor

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the graphical "breadcrumbs" in Windows
Explorer? This question is for all the keyboardists who have not enjoyed the
extra steps needed to use Explorer.exe and the keyboard (yes without the
mouse).

I would be very happy if there was a way to have the breadcrumbs as
the alternate and the text path as the default. Navigating by the
breadcrumbs can be fantastically fast if you need to navigate that
way, but most of my navigation is up or down 1 directory and the
ability to copy/paste the part (or part of it) is more important that
anything else (as far as the address bar goes). As well, I find the
breadcrumbs are so large that information must be hidden a lot of the
time.

Breadcrumbs are the term that I have picked up for the way Vista shows &
navigates between folders within the Explorer address bar. If anyone know
what the actual term is, it might help me figure out how to turn them off. I
want the address bar to display text only and all the time, just like XP does.

Does anyone know what the correct term is for Vista's breadcrumbs?

The 'breadcrumb' bar shows where you are and allows you to go back from
whence you came...
I don't know of a way to turn it off.
But Hansel & Gretel may...LOL

In case you're confused, let me make it clear: this isn't Microsoft
you're addressing. This is a peer support newsgroup. We are all just
Windows XP users here, helping each other if and when we can. We are
not Microsoft employees (not even those of us with "Microsoft MVP"
behind our names; that's an honorary title for having provided
consistently helpful advice) except for an occasional employee who
posts here unofficially on his own time.
