Trying to delete or select items in folder create MANY copies

Good Morning,
I have a folder in which I have many photos.
When I try to either copy a bunch or delete a bunch of
photos the folder keeps making copies upon copies of the
the items selected. Anyone have this HUGE frustrating
issue and the fix..I am not illiterate but must be
missing some obvious setting.

HELP!!!

This happens when you select the pictures by means of
your mouse and didn't release the mouse button before
moving it.
Try to slow down when you select the pictures and release
the mouse button before moving your mouse.
