Trying to delete docs but copy also being made...help!

Trying to clear some space in "My Documents" and deleting some .pdf documents
but everytime I delete a back-up copy is made and place here and cluttering.

How do I successfully delete without copies of document being made?

This happens because the hand (while dragging to the Recycle Bin, yes?)
isn't as steady as one would want.

First, turn down your mouse sensitivity from the Mouse applet in Control
Panel. Next, change the way you delete files. Select and then either
right-click on the selected file and choose Delete or select and use
the File>Delete menu item.

To select multiple contiguous files, select the first file in the series
and then hold down the Shift key and click on the last file in the
series. All will then be selected. Right-click anywhere in the selected
files and choose Delete.

To select multiple non-contiguous files, hold down the Ctrl key.
