Trying to create an opt-in list

Can I upload an access database to my cpanel to collect information from
people who want to subscribe to my newsletter and so forth. I just figured
this would save me money if I can...

Access is not a web based database.

For your needs, you should look into technologies specifically designed for
the purpose you are trying to fill. For instance, check out phplist (there
are other - try googling).

Thanks for the information. I did google search opt-in lists and how to
create opt-in lists and all kinds of other stuff but I did not try phplist. I
will do that and Thank You for your quick response.

Jeff,
I am no technical genius or anything but to define cpanel I would say the
cpanel is where you control your website and its content. The cpanel is where
you upload your files to that you want to publish to the web. Personally, I
create my pages for my website in Microsoft publisher and then upload them to
my cpanel for my website. I hope this somewhat answers your question.
