Dan

I need a formula that will count the number of unmarried
"couples" (S, W, or D) whose combined income is between
$20,000 & $29,999.
In the table below, there is only 1 (Apt# 105)that has 2
umarried people living together with a combined income
=ing the criteria. Sorry the table is long but there are
many different scenerios.
Marital
3 Apt# Name Sex Status Salary
4 101 Bob M S $28,000
5 102
6 103 Don M M $26,000
7 Val F M $14,000
8 104 Fran F W $18,000
9 105 Ken M S $12,000
10 Jan F D $ 9,000
11 106 Lee M D $36,000
12 107 Mary F S $ 0
13 Nancy F D $ 9,000
14 108 Mary F S $21,000
15 109 Pat M S $72,000

Hi
you already receive one answer in your older post. Have you tried it?

Dan,

One way is to use helper columns, if you data is in
columns B, C, D, E, and F then enter in G2 =IF(AND
(B2>0,E2<>"M",B3=0,E3<>"M",F3>0),F2+F3,"") and copy down
as needed. This will combine the total income of S, W,
and D where there are two incomes in the same Apt. Next
in H1 enter =COUNT(G2:G100,">19999","<30000") which will
count the income between $20,000 and $29,999.
