Trust Between NT4 and 2003

Not sure if this is the right place, but I didn't see an
area for Windows 2003. Anyway, I am in the process of
upgrading to a 2003 domain, we currently run on an NT
network. I am having problems setting up a Trust between
the two domains. Our NT PDC can see the new 2003 domain,
however, when I try to add the old NT domain to the
trusting domains area on our 2003 server, it says that the
domain name I specified is not a valid windows domain
name. The domain name I am typing is GETBIZ.COM, which is
our old domain that I am logged into now. I'm following
the HOW TO guide found on Microsoft's website (Article
325874). The guide says you must use the NetBIOS name
resolution to enable trust between domains... is that
something I would have to turn on manually on the NT PDC
or the 2003 DC? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brian

Is WINS installed on the 2003? Are options 044 and 046 (0x8) set in
DHCP-server, Scope options?

Yes, WINS is installed, and that other stuff you asked me
I have no clue, but there is no DHCP server :) I did
figure it out though, I just had to add routes to the
lmhosts file on the 2003 DC. Now I get to research giving
permission to the computer accounts and what not, oh joy!
Hehe, anyway, thanks for the help!

Regards,

Why aren't you running DHCP-server? Really, it is a nobrainer and makes sure
that all necessary settings are being pushed to the clients.

Brian,

When you logon to the NT4 domain, in the 3rd line of the logon box, What
is that name? that is what you will want to specify instead of getbiz.com.

The NetBIOS domain name is the NT Domain name, not the internet domain
name. On the NT4 PDC, check Control panel -> Network ->
Identification tab.
