Hi, could someone please help me. I have managed to use remote desktop to
log into a xp box whilst a user is logged into that box. However this throws
the user off on their end as I take over their session. How can i avoid this
from happening? What id like to do is have both the user and myself logged
onto the same session so i can show him how i move around his desktop
session? i.e. something like VNC does. Is this possible? I heard that it is
possible to 'ghost' a session via terminal services. Is this what i am
aiming for? All computers are running windows xp pro.

Many thanks !

Not possible using Remote Desktop on WinXP - only one user can be logged in
at a time, whether it's remote or local. You might look into Remote
Assistance, if you don't want to use third party stuff.

You can shadow a TS session, but that's only possible on W2003 server remote
desktop/terminal services, not XP.

Thanks for that, I shall look into remote assistance.

Are you saying shadowing is only possible between 2003 servers? I cant
shadow an xp used from a 2003 server?

cheers, peter

If you have a W2003 Terminal Server, and the user logs into the TS box, you
can shadow his/her session. But that isn't on the client.
