Create a troubleshooter for slow or hung Outlook. Focus first on Outlook
2007 and all the current problems people are having with migrated Outlook
files, settings, and corrupted items slowing or hanging Outlook. Find some
good way to hook it into Outlook 2007 help online since there doesn't even
seem to be a concept of troubleshooting left there. Make it easily updatable
so it can be put out quickly but added to as fast as more problems can be
gathered.

Yes, this patch is certainly one of the things everyone should do. I've done
it for my own pc. It 'helped', a little. But it's one of maybe dozens of
separate acknowledged problem fixes Microsoft identifies fixes or work
arounds for I've found or been pointed to in various places on the MS site,
or on other sites.

I just haven't been able to find anything coherent anywhere about how to
clear out the multiple performance problems, hangs, and crashes in Outlook, &
specifically Outlook 2007. I've changed more than a dozen things on my own
pc. Most seem to have helped. Outlook 2007 is now acceptable on my pc,
barely. But I can't OK it for general deployment.

I've got my own notes but it's a LOT of stuff I've tried, and undone, and
retried over more than 3 months, and it's not something I want to lay out for
a tech to do for 100 Office users upgrading.

Certainly Microsoft must somewhere have the knowledge collected, in the
Exchange and Outlook groups maybe, about all of the performance, hang, and
crash issues and the fixes, workarounds, and configuration choices and issues
to deal with them. I'd just like the MS knowledge made available in some
coherent form, like a troubleshooter, with enough keywords attached so any
relevant search finds it. Probably just look at the top 20 search term for
Outlook and put in 10 of them, like: office outlook 2007, performance, hang,
hung, hangs, stops, stop, pause, pauses, wait, run, calendar item, window,
won't, slow, very, crazy, kill, task manager. Make it so any relevant tool
finds this super answer.

Oh yeah. If the answer is a technical article. Please, please, please try to
have a documentation writer re-write it so that the separate symptoms,
causes, and fixes are easy to find and not buried in convoluted paragraphs?
