Hi,

I have a 3rd party s/w which,when I uninstall leaves some
registry entry and it is creating problem.

I want that the registry entry be removed completely when
I uninstall.

what could be the problem and how to get a permanent
solution as have also tried the following :

delete the registry entry and then again install the
program and then uninstall it. again, the registry entry
for the program is maintained.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Sheena

Yes the "uninstaller" the program has is poorly written, please complain
to the vendor of the 3rd party software to fix the "uninstall" instructions.

Sheena, you can repackage the product installation with a third-party
product and these should give you the option of totally removing the
software with no trace left. I have used SMS Installer for this kinds of
things, though I imagine InstallShield Admin Studion and the like also
provide such options. You might also take a look at Windows Installer
Light Edition on the Win2K CD: VALUEADD\...\WINSTLE (can't recall full
path).
