Troubleshoot hiding columns error message

Guest

When I try to hide columns in a spreadsheet a client sent me, I get the error
message "Cannot shift objects off page." How do I get rid of this message
and hide the columns I want to hide?

You have objects way to the right (Column IV) or way to the bottom of the
sheet (row 65536)

To test where excel thinks it's used range is press ctrl+end. This will
likely be further than you think.

To reset the used range, select all the extra columns (By clicking on the
column header at the far right of where excel thinks it has data and holding
the shift key down and clicking the last column after the actual data and
selecting edit> DELETE (not clear). Do the same for rows and then SAVE THE
FILE. (Important)

Now you should be ok
