When I go to the dektop, I get a black pop up that says,
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe. Can't get rid of it. It only lasts
for about 15 seconds. I can the get on to the internet.

When I go to Trend Micro housecall I ALWAYS get an error
and shutdown report. I used housecall on FridAay the 2nd
with no problems, but it did not correct the abopve
problem.

My home page should be something like:-
sbc.yahoodsl.microsoft imtermet exporer.

I often get MICROSOFT SEARCH and or
RES://mhhp.dll/index.html#37049. going crazy!!!!!

Can I go to the SAFE MODE and delete the C drive and
reintall XP PRO?????

First try running a virus checker and then and anti spyware program like
"Spybot search and destroy".

There are trojans that mess with a file of this name, see here for an
example...

if windows is installed on the c drive you can't
uninstall it!
