Trouble with Titles - Excel 2007

B

Brenda

I'm using Excel 2007 and thought I wanted a Header so that I would have a
column heading on each page as I print the pages out (creating a small phone
book that will change from time to time.)

I've spent far too much time trying to get Headers under control, so after
some searching in this excellent forum, I realize that TITLES is what I
really need to do, but I can't quite figure out how to do it.

I have put the column headings in row 1, and have highlighted row 2, and
then tried to FREEZE the pane, because I think that's what I need to do, but
FREEZE PANE is greyed out... I must be doing something wrong, but I can't
figure out what it is...

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Brenda

Freezing rows and/or columns affects the screen display only. It does not
affect printouts. Perhaps you want to repeat row 1 if it has your column
headings, with the column headings at the top of each page. Page Setup/Sheet
tab/Print titles/Rows to repeat at top. Enter 1:1

You need to do this in Page Setup. Go to Page Layout>Print
Titles>Sheet>Print titles>Rows to repeat at top, and select row 1, or enter
$1:$1.

Alternatively, go to Header/Footer, and enter your title as a header.

Regards,
Fred.
