I am trying to upgrade my PC (XP Professional 5.10.2600)
with several critical XP and Explorer updates all of
which were identified by running Microsoft Windows
Update. The first update I am trying to do is the SP1
update. The SP1 update successfully downloads to the
PC. However, once I agree to the EULA and the actual
unpacking and install of the update begins, I receive a
dialog box with the meesage, "Service Pack 1 Setup Error
Service Pack 1 Setup Cancelled". I've ckecked several
times to ensure that the virus checking and security are
off and they were. (I am running Norton Internet
Security Professional 2003.)
Any remedies or suggested work arounds? Thanks.
