trouble opening my word 2007 attachements

Whenever I attempt to send someone a Word 2007 attachment, it turns out that
some people can open and others cannot. I cannot ask business people to
download the compatibility pact so they can open my attachment. Is there
something else I can do that would allow them to open the attachement with
their older versions?

Sure - Save the file in the older format (Word 97/2003 - .doc) rather than
the default .docx - or, even better if they don't need to edit the file,
send them a PDF.
