Hi,
Running xp pro, officexp pro and frontpage 2002.
I'm trying to install internet information services so
i can connect to my home computer over the internet.
(I was told i need this?)

Every time i get to the point where it asks for the cd
it looks for file "%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\i386"
and cannot find it.

I have to abort the install.
Any help would be appreciated!

thank's
Rich

Not sure what you mean by "connect to your home computer"
but you DO NOT need IIS to connect to your computer over
the Internet. IIS is a web services server, which you would
use if you wanted to serve web pages for users on the
Internet (it can be used for some other things as well such
as email & FTP). The version that comes with Windows XP is
a scaled down version of IIS called Personal Web Server and
is installed from Windows Components in the Add/Remove
Programs section. If all you want to do is access your PC
desktop and files from the Internet may I suggest PC
Anywhere. This program will allow you to connect to your PC
and have complete access to your desktop, folders and
files, etc. Hope this helps.

I wold try and point the system to the Windows XP CD-ROM.
I am not 100% sure since I have not looked at it in a
while but I think there should be a i386 directory on the
CD-ROM. Point it to there and the system should find any
drivers it requires.

Hi,
The files were in the i386 thank's.

Nestor,
I was told i needed those files to setup a remote desktop.
I do have pcanywhere 10.5 and tried to use it but couldn't.
It would not find the remote computer.
I have a wired network at work and a wireless at home.
Both using linksys. Also have zonealarm at both (which i shut
down, also turned off both xp firewalls.) and winxp pro on both.
I could not get it to connect.

I know little about networking.
If you have any pointers in this situation i'd appreciate it.
I've heard nothing but good things about pcanywhere.
Thank's
Rich
