Trouble doing a particular update

I have been using the manufacturer's (eMachines)
system "BigFix" to
obtain Windows XP updates. Four days ago, I tried to
download one called "KB Article Q832483 - Buffer overrun
in MDAC function could allow code execution". Proceeded
with download and got message "Not passed Windows Logo
testing - will not be installed".
Is there an alternate way to obtain this update?

in internet explorer tools, windows update .i am guessing
you have not been using windows update site. windows
update is the only site to get operating system fixes from.
and drivers from the manufacturers website.
