Trouble Accessing HP Website

I have a long standing issue with accessing driver updates and such on
Hewlett Packards website.

I have asked their web support people several time for assistance, but I
always get the "Well it works here" reply!

I can get on their main web page, click on the support and drivers link, and
enter the device I am looking for, however, I can never get past this page,
and it's really frustrating!

I get a "Page Cannot Be Displayed, The page you are looking for is currently
unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or
you may need to adjust your browser settings" message returned on this link;

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Look...t=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=cp1700d

I have this site listed as a trusted site, and IE displays the "Trusted
Site" on the status bar. I have my security settings on "Low" on the trusted
site.

I have cleared my cache multiple times, redone my security settings, however
I do not believe that it is related specifically to my machine, because none
of the machines on my network (XP, Win98, and Win2003) can get past this
certain point.

I am on cable down here in North Florida (Road Runner from Time Warner
Cable), and I am suspecting this may have something to do with it (but just a
guess), perhaps thier website or certain Ip addresses blocked or filtered.

My brother is on Comcast/Brighthouse about 20 miles south of me, and he can
paste the above link into his browser and display the appropriate pages with
no problem.

I have tried different browsers also (Netscape, Firefox, etc) and still
cannot access this site. Does anyone else have this problem or perhaps a
resolution?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That may be the wrong approach. I have had strange problems with
a previously Trusted Site resolved by removing it from that list.

Also it's not clear to me how that default
"Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone"
works. I also was using non-secure URLs and the zone was still
showing up as Trusted Site for them. I haven't done a trace to see
what happens exactly, so I'm just reporting my observation and ideas
about that feature.

BTW I tried out the above site looking for drivers for product cp1700d
and it seems straightforward. One thing that happened which you
didn't mention was a page came up to specify my OS. Perhaps yours
is automating over that page somehow? (e.g. using Cookie information).
The Privacy Report (Alt-V,v) showed at least 3 cookies being used
during the navigation. Have you tried deleting any Cookies associated
with any sites associated with HP before starting your visit and are you
allowing all Cookies during your visit? (Use Privacy settings to activate
prompts for Cookie presentation to be sure.) Even if you are not getting
a prompt for your OS you may notice in some of the pages the opportunity
to specify a "different" OS. If so, take it; it may give you a chance to specify
your OS better than it might have been saved as.

Good luck
