Trojan

My anti virus software has detected a trojan in Windows ME C:/_Restore.A500
something.cys

but when I try to delete it the PC states that it can't delete a running
program. Any ideas?

This is on a stand alone PC in work & I can't remember off hand the full
name of the virus.

Turn off System Restore.
Instructions here:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm

System Restore has taken a copy of a virus infected file, and becuase you as
a user aren't allowed access to the files Sys Restore keeps, you can't
delete it. Therefore, the only way to get rid of it is to turn Sys Restore
off.

You can turn it on later if you wish, but definately do a virus check with
it turned off, and then again with it turned on, just in case.

One other thing - advise you put some sort of spamblock in your email
address when you're posting on here, otherwise your address may get
harvested for spam, etc, etc, etc.
