trojan horse

I have a gateway comp. new it has windows xp 2003 i have
a trojanhorse; called trojan start page I gets
identified but it in my systems restoration file. I have
talked to just about everyone and down loaded lots of
security features and it wont remove it norton says that
the file is locked can you help STEVE

There is no such thing as "windows xp 2003".
There is Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
You most likely have Windows XP.

Reboot to Safe Mode
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu
Run your antivirus application from here.
