Does anyone know why I could not upgrade the power supply in my computer.I got a message after boot up that appears to prevent me from accessing my Windows program. It keeps rebooting to the start up and will not go beyond this. What is the problem ? Anyone know.I replaced the new power supply with the old one and low and behold it started up as usual.

It could be a bad power supply. I assume that you have a ATX board and as
such bought an ATX power supply.

Check all your power connections....especially the one to your boot drive.

Might need to clear your CMOS, then go into your BIOS to change time/data, CPU speed, etc.

How much wattage is it

could be a loose connection to the MoBo or hard drive, bad power supply, bent pins, bad female connectors, molex not seated into the hard drive

Check or have someone check all the connectors on the power supply with a multimeter to see if the supply is goo
