Trial download for Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 is now
available through Office trial web-site at
http://us1.trymicrosoftoffice.com/default.aspx?culture=en-US. It is
available in Microsoft Office 2007 Professional and Microsoft Office 2007
Small Business edition. The install program for Business Contact Manager can
be downloaded through "Download2" button. If you previously installed Office
(Pro or Small Business) trial, you don't need to re-install Office.

Please give it a try and let us know how you like new and improved product.

I have tried the new 2007 BCM and I don't like it because after over 4 years,
it is still needlessly limited in its relational linking capabilities. The
new user interface is beautiful but one is still ONLY allowed to link 1
Business Contact Record per 1 Account Record. Also, one can link EITHER only
1 Business Contact Record or 1 Account Record to an individual opportunity.
Once a business opportunity is linked to just 1 record, you cannot link
anyone elso even if those other someone elses (as is so often the case) are
also key players intricately involved in closing a sale. I am just
registering this solicited feedback as loud and clear as I can for all to
read and know BEFORE they begin to adopt BCM without knowing of this
oversight and limited functionality in advance.

These limitations are unforgiveable by MS for small business users in the
real world. I refuse to restrict my database usage needs to such a stupid
"one-size-fits-all" design flaw. This is a needless issue that should not
require someone to have to work around.

Best wishes all,

-THP

What if you already have outlook 2007 pro loaded, not a beta or pre-release
but full version? I its not safe to load over a license copy correct?

If you got a license copy of just Outlook 2007, you will need to upgrade it
to Professional or Small Business edition to get BCM. Please post your
question on microsoft.public.office.setup forum to know more about what will
happen if you install Professional Trial SKU on a fully licensed Outlook
2007 copy.
