Trees in forest

Patrick G.

In a test environment I have created 2 domains each the
root of its own tree in a single forest. Is it normal NOT
to be able to browse the other Domain in the forest under
My Network Places/Entire Network?

I can get to shares in the other domain by typing fully
qualified name in Run.., and can map drives to shares in
explorer using FQN.

Is this normal or can it be fixed?

Add to this....

The domain IS visible under My Network Places/Entire
Network/Directory but NOT visible under My Network
Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network.

Adding the networking DL.
This is going to be a netbios/browsing type issue. Let's let the gurus
handle it. :)

This is normal. You could WINS on each domain and have them replicate e/o.
It sort of depends on the clients too as DNS may be the way to go. Is there
a trust setup between these domains>?

Yes there is a trust between the domains. They are both
members of the same forest. DNS seems to be operationg
properly in both domains.
