tree structure. is it possible?

Hi everyone,
I am a new to database programming, so sorry in advance for possible silly
question. I wonder if access can manage tables where records are similar to
tree structure. suppose I have a table named"members" which contains members
infromation. in addition every member can (or have) to reffer one member that
is considered to be just above him. on the other hand evry member may have
unlimited number of refferers (i.e. members that reffer him, and are
considered to be just below him)- something like pyramid, you see. I wonder
if Access can handle such type of tables?
