transpose function

Hello

We are trying to transpose a worksheet of 600 rows and 300
columns in excel 97.

However an error is reported to do with the paste area not
being the same shape. The selected area was symmetric and
this didn't seem like the problem.

Trying even 300 rows and 1 column also caused transpose to
fail.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is the data set too
large or is there a limit in excel on these activities?

Many thanks

Stephen

Hi
Excel only allows 256 columns. So you can't transpose 300 (or 600) rows
to columns :)

Nor can you even *have* a worksheet of 600 rows and 300 columns, in any
version of Excel.
