Transparent colours on chart?

Hi,
I have a 3D column chart and I'd like to show transparent
colours for one of my series, so that the series' behind
it can be seen. Is there any way to do this?
Any help is appreciated as always!

AFAIK, transparency in charts is only built in to the latest version of
Excel on the Macintosh, and is not available in the Windows version.

For a column chart, you can simulate the effect by pasting a transparent
shape onto the column series, but this doesn't work on an area chart.

Perhaps you could use a different type of chart, or a combination of
