Translation software needed

I'm looking for English to Russian and Russian to English. I know that
these translators often don't work very well, but I'm willing to live with
that. Anyone know of a desktop translator for these languages? I don't
want to use web based services.

Here is a nice freeware dictionary program for download:

I use it for english and german, but they have a russian wordlist too.

You might ask where the dictionary program is when you see that web page,
because it is not there.

Click on the language you want instead, and then scroll down and download
both the russian wordlist and the program itself, on this page:

http://www.freelang.net/dictionary/russian.html

When you have downloaded the program once you can add more wordlists for
other languages. They have 74 languages at the moment.

If you mean word rather than phrase translation, Dictionary2000 is a
good one and was free. It is now Oddin Faust 2000 and not free but
there are still old ones here and there.
