I have a windows XP home edition and a couple of days ago it magically
transformed itself into windows XP media center edition. how do i get rid of
that junk and go back to home edition.

Ask you kids why they installed the other Windows version and where
they got it.

The kids needed to watch some 3-D porn. They borrowed a disk.

and no there are no kids. i have an HP laptop and teh hard drive is said ot
be 60 gigs so i was tryign ot figure out where the 30 gigs which i coulnt
allocate were. so i deleted a bunch of useless crap and i swear to god. it
changed into a media center. annoys me like crazy. should i just reinstall
the software. also a question to anyone who could help. on my hard drive like
isaid above. i only used 20 gigs. and it says that i infact have used 50+.
and i cant find where the rest of thos 35 gigs are. thanks.

Media Center is a subset or XP Pro.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for XP Home to become Media Center.

You are either smoking dope, or you're a moron.

well when i log on. it says windowns xp media cented edition. also when i
call task manager. it takes me to another screen to confirm it and on the
choices selection. it says in the background media ceneter edition

It is concievable that such a thing can be done by malware. Back up your
files and settings and rebuild. I don't see how you can trust such a system
in its present state.

Media Center is a subset or XP Pro.


Typo perhaps, but it's a *super*set. It has everything in Professional
(except for the ability to join a domain) and more.
