I am using Microsoft Virtual PC Professional 6.1 with an
Apple PowerBook. What is the best way (if any) to
transfer mp3 songs in the Media Player library to my Apple
iTunes library? Thanks.
First, make sure
1) Start iTunes
2) Click on "File|Add folder to my Library"
3) Navigate to the folder(s) which contain(s) your .mp3 files.

To facilitate the above, make sure your .mp3s are in separate folders
from other music files.
*** Example ***
My music files are stored this way on my backup drive:

D:\Music
\MP3
\album 1
\album 2
\album 3
\WMA
\album 1
\album 2
\album 3

By pointing iTunes to the "D:\Music\MP3" folder, all folders underneath
it (not including folders underneath "\WMA") were included when I chose
"D:\Music\MP3" as the folder to add.

It doesn't really matter whether the individual albums are stored by
Artist. iTunes will organize them by artist, as long as they are stored
by album.

By the way, iTunes will not import Windows Media Audio files.
