Transferring files/folders to new computer

I will be getting a tower today with Windows XP(home) and want to
transfer files/folders from my
Window98 tower. I will be using Detto's Intellimover. My question is:
In general, what can I move and what can't I move? For example, I would
like to transfer almost all folders from Program Files. I have placed
just about all of my working applications (spyware, antivirus, browser,
email client, digital photography processing programs, MS Money, etc)
into Program Files. Thanks,

You will need to reinstall the applications because most of them will
also have entries in the Registry that won't get transferred.

No you can not simply move everything from Program Files.

Programs MUST be installed to work correctly.

Adam, you can use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to transfer the
data. It comes with XP. Here is a link with info on how it works:

I would use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard in XP.

It won't allow you to move anything that shouldn't be

I guess I felt that transferring programs/apps would not be as simple as
I had hoped it to be, or I wouldn't have posed the question. Aslo, I
guess I wasted $ on Detto as the files can be moved by XP. Nonetheless,
