Can I transfer a screensaver from Windows 98 SE to Windows XP? Which files
do I need do copy?

Hi Doruf,

In Win98 the Windows screen savers are located in the
C:\Windows\System folder and have a file extension of .scr

In WinXP the Windows screen savers are located in the
C:\Windows\System32 folder and have the same file extension.

Move the screensavers as you like from Win98 to WinXP.

Bear in mind that there may be a help (*.hlp) or ini (*.ini)
associated with the saver. You'll want to copy those also.

Well, I found a .scr file and a .dll file for the screensaver I want, but no
..ini or .hlp files. I've copied the files to my computer, by when I try to
preview the screensaver ("Underwater"), I get a black screen. What else do I
need to do?

Some of these older savers kept information in a file
windows\control.ini that XP itself does not use

Try making one - just start with a blank line in Notepad, and save as
"Control.ini"

On another topic, I'm looking for application that turns the album artwork
for each song in my iTunes library into a screensaver (changing the
corresponding image as the tracks change). I can find a few such apps on the
web for Mac but none for PC (Win XP). Any ideas? Many thanks.

Still no luck. Any other thoughts?
