Transfer Pictures from Old PC to New PC

Both old and new PC have Windows XP. The CD writer on the old PC is not
functioning (one of the reasons for purchasing new PC). How can I transfer
the pictures?

And the simplest option may be to just install the old hard
drive as a slave and directly copy the wanted files, either
manually or using the wizard.

USB "thumb" drive

Any other USB drive
