Tracks Eraser does not work

The tracks eraser tool for Internet Explorer - URL
History does not work. Even after I "erase these tracks,"
the Internet Explorer address bar still fills in when i
begin typing an address. Is there a way to delete this
information manually?

Cookies is not supported in this release. In Internet Explorer go to Tools >
Options > Clear History.

I'd recommend Spybot Search & Destroy for this particular functionality, I
think

(I'm not excusing the failure of Microsoft Antispyware--I believe this part
of the product needs improvement--just being practical!)

This is indeed a problem. Neither MS AntiSpyware, nor
Norton Systemworks, nor Spybot Search & Destroy seems to
be able to remove a previously typed URL. Searching all
files on my PC for an URL which pops up when I begin to
type an address which starts with the same letters yields
no result but Internet Explorer finds it even after I
have destroyed and recreated elsewhere the pagefile.
The problem seems to be: where does Internet explorer
store prteviously typed URL?

I don't know this answer.

makes me wonder whether deleting index.dat is the answer. You should be
able to do this using a mechanism that deletes busy files over a restart--it
is one bit of cleaning that I've never bothered with--blowing away all the
TIF files has been what I've needed to do.
