Not *really* - dependent on the applications, its own code and what you mean
by tracking activity...
Event Log... (start --> run --> eventvwr --> ok)

There are all types of history files in Windows, including several thar are
named "History". Go into Search for Files and Folders and do a search using
the name "History". It will turn up the obvious ones. After that, it means
doing some looking inside the *.ini files as well as in the Registry, among
other places.

For the most part, no. It does keep track of significant system events in
the logs. This will allow you, for example, to figure out when the system
was started and shut down.

If what you're trying to do is something like enforcing restrictions on
family ( i.e. children's) PC use, consider applications like NetNanny.
These do produce detailed logs and will give you solid control over the use
of the PC, as long as you do keep control over the passwords.
