Trace Precedents Function

N

Niggel

I have a sheet with a SUM function that has many precedents (like 50). When
I click "Trace Precedents" some of the precedent cells are not identified by
the
blue dots as they should be. The correct cells are in the formula which
works OK but it is annoying and more time consuming that I can't visually
check the precedents using this function.

Any ideas please?

I'm assuming you have ranges within your formulas, as the Trace Precedents will only pick up the
top leftmost cell of any range that exists within your formula, eg:-

=SUM(F7:K7)+SUM(G10:I10)+SUM(I13:K13)

Trace Precedents will only pick up on F7, G10 and I13
