This is where the file is located C:\WINDOWS\system32
\LogFiles\WMI\trace.log

I have scanned my machine with Panda Soft Antivirus and
Norton, neither has found anything. I found some
reference to Boot vis. I found that and ran that, NOTHING
FOUND!! This file enlarges to over 20 GIG (That is the
free space on my C Drive). If I reboot, the file drops
back to zero bytes. I cannot delete it, and I have not
changed anything on my machine, so I do not know why this
file just all of a sudden blows up to that size.

I have a fire wall running at all times (Router Firewall
and Norton Internet security). Please, if anyone knows
how to fix this stupid thing, please let me know. I am
not leaving my email address here as there is too much
SPAM. I will check back in a day or two.
Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

Hi

Here is a Google newsgroup search for you, you will find the answer in there:

You evidently have installed BootVis but have not
followed the directions on how to shut it off after use.

For your information, I checked it, there is no
reference, also "Torgeir Bakken \(MVP\)" <Torgeir.Bakken-
(e-mail address removed)> submitted some useful information, instead
of a smart assed remark which is of no use to anyone.

For anyone reading this, the fix for this trace.log file,
go to this message board:
http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthread.php?
s=&threadid=7403&highlight=trace

Also, Roger Abell, I went through about 10 messages on the
site referenced above, there is no mention of Bootvis.
Maybe you need to do some more reading.

Just to let you know Torgeir, that link fixed it, I have
reconfigured the system and now the file can only grow to
5 MB. Again, Thank you very much.
