totaling purchases

Hi

I want to take a list of purchases (not necessarily in chronological order) and have Excel 2000 total each days' purchases and put that in another cell. Example-

6/1 $1
6/5 $3
6/1 $2
6/4 $7
6/3 $6
6/1 $3

will give me this-
6/1 $6
6/2 -
6/3 $6
6/4 $7
6/5 $3

Currently, I am doing it all myself. This is kind of a pain. I know it can be done but I can't figure out how.

Take a look at answers to your first post.

Posts usually take several minutes to appear and may take a lot longer
