top 2 records for groups in query?

TIA:

I'm trying to return the last 2 records for each group of records from a
table ie.

I have a table for employees with salary history (records of date and
salary) and want % increase of current salary, thus need last 2 records for
each employee. Tried top 2 values for summary query for dates and employee
but only get top 2 dates; not top 2 for each employee...

Any solutions? Thanks, Joel
