TOOLS > ORGANIZE > coding senders by colour. How to customize views globally?

I'm told this can be done but still cannot find out how to do this.
In the way I've used colour for certain senders in the past, via the
ORGANIZE option, this can only be done folder by folder as far as I've
ever been able to tell.

Apparently, this _can_ be set globally through the views (which I go
to via VIEW > CURRENT VIEW > DEFINE VIEWS > clicking on the MESSAGES
view name and clicking MODIFY). I've gone through _all_ the boxes in
this modify area 3 times now but don't see where this can be done. I
must be really losing it, then <g>.

The HELP file and googling yield all sorts of interesting facts but
nothing related to this.

Can someone tell me pls what to call up in the HELP file that will
give me directions on how to set the colour for senders globally all
at once that I choose? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

You need to modify the Automatic Formatting settings for the view that
you're trying to modify.

Ah, geez, "Automatic Formatting" is an option available in that box.
Geez. It's probably so obvious to you all <g>. Thanks, you worded
your answer in such a way that I finally figured out to check for
something with that title. It's a button right on that box! <g>

Thanks.
