Tools/Options settings do not hold in Word XP (2002)

I’m running Office XP here at work and have been having trouble getting my
Tools > Options settings in WORD to stay put. The only thing that sticks is
my User Information. Every other setting on every other tab reverts back to
the default each and every time I close out of Word. This is maddening and I
cannot seem to find why it’s doing this.

I should note that, although we use a networked Standard Desktop here at
work, this only started happening with the latest Tivoli pushed update from
Corporate IT. Previous to that, whatever I’d set in Tools > Options would
stay set. Additionally, this odd behavior does not happen when I’m working
on my standalone computer at home which is also loaded with Office XP.

If you have Adobe Acrobat 7, its add-in prevents saving Normal.dot on
exit -- see the last section of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm.

Otherwise, see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/DataKeySettings.htm.
