Toolbars placing at excel 2007

Vinod

I wanted to place a drawing toolbar, control toolbar, form toolbar in my
workbook in excel 2007. Like i was doing in excel 2003
view|toolbars|drawing,controlbar,form.
These toolbars remains stay in workbook upto when I close those toolbars
manually. In this way I'm expecting to fix the toolbar (in excel 2007) in the
default view eventhough if i select any menu.

How to fix toolbars in excel-2007.

Advanced Thanks,
Vinod

How to fix toolbars in excel-2007.

The only part of the Excel 2007 ribbon that is customizable through the user
interface is the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT). You should be able to add the
controls you want from the old toolbars to it.

Thanks Jim,

Actually my requirement is,
I had a workbook which contains 3rd party toolbar(4 buttons). when I open
this workbook in excel 2003 the toolbar is at fixed place (able to view all
buttons). Again I opened the same workbook in excel 2007 but I'm not able to
view the 3rd party toolbar by default. for this I'm selecting Add-In menu
then only I'm able to view the 3rd party toolbar (able to view 4 buttons).
Later if I select any other ribbon then the 3rd party toolbar is disappering.

So, is there any chance to place toolbars in fixed place in excel-2007.

Advanced Thanks,
Vinod

What you're seeing is the expected Excel 2007 behavior. All pre-2007
add-ins, etc., that modify existing or create their own toolbars and menus
see those changes shifted to the Add-ins tab of the ribbon. And that tab is
not always visible so the add-ins buttons are not always visible. You're
not the first person to find this design less than desirable.

The only thing you can do to make this situation slightly better is to
customize the QAT. One thing you can do is add "Menu Commands" and/or
"Custom Toolbars" to it. Then ALL the commands on the Add-ins tab will be 2
clicks away, clicks that do not change the active ribbon tab.

You can also assign macros to buttons added the QAT. So you could assign
buttons to specific macros in the add-in I would think (if they are
accessible).

If the add-in were rewritten for Excel 2007 it could modify the ribbon and
add its commands to existing or new ribbon tabs. It could even add its
commands to all the tabs so its command would always be visible. Space is
limited so that might not be practical.
