Toolbars in PPT 2000

Ever since we upgraded our Office to Office2000, PowerPoint is not behaving as it should.

The Toolbars in PowerPoint we find do not stay docked. As a result each time our presenters create a slide show and click on objects like Excel chart, or which is inserted in the presentation, The whole PowerPoint window slides down. This happens for each mouse click after that. As a result there comes a time when there is a lot of grey space on the top and the PowerPoint file is almost close to the Windows TaskBar.

Has any one else experienced this problem. Is this a known bug in PowerPoint 2000. Is there a solution??

Hi,

I have no idea what might cause this, except, maybe some video issues.
Please read the following, and perhaps try number 3 about video drivers
first.

1. First, you should make sure you have the latest version of DirectX. That
may not help your current problem, but it is a wise security move. WARNING:
If you have Windows 2000, you MUST have all Service Patches for Win2K in
place before doing this (Courtesy of Austin Myers).

2. Second, you should try adjusting hardware acceleration:

3. Third, update your video drivers. They are the interface between you
program
and what you see:

Also, try the general troubleshooting material:

"Don't use PowerPoint for anything serious until you've done this":

If that doesn't solve the problem, at least you have narrowed down the
possibilities Please get back to us so we can progress further.
