Can anyone tell me, if using Access 2003, you can change the picture on a
command bar button to a bitmap .jpg etc. other than those provided
internally? I have searched long and hard to no avail. I am open to
alternate suggestions or examples of other solutions on how to accomplish
this task by other means. Thanks so much for your replies.

Thanks for the response. Can you please be a little more specific about
this solution. How do I go about building a custom toolbar? As a form? Any
further help or links to any examples would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Barry

Yes, you can paste in your own designs.

Just bring up your favorite picture editor. Re-size the image to 16x16
pixels.

Do a "select" all..and then "copy" to the clipboard.

In ms-access, you then right click a menu bar, and select customize. You
then at this point add new commend buttons, or a new menu (if you need
cascading menu bar).

when "customize" mode, you can right click on any command button.and then
select "paste". I also usually use the built in icon editor to "touch up"
the paste..as often it not quite right. The icon editor is built into
ms-access.

If you look at the following screen shot...you can see well that I created a
complete custom menu system for ms-access...

note the custom icons are ones I simply "pasted" into ms-access menu bars..
