Toolbar Question

user

Does anyone know how to place (Customize) the cut, copy & paste commands
on the toolbar just below the Menu Bar? This toolbar contains commands
suchas Organize Open Print Email Etc.

Please reply thru my email (e-mail address removed)

Could it be possible he was talking about Windows Explorer, rather than IE7?
I want to know how to copy and past in Windows Explorer. In XP it was
simple but the commands don't exist on the taskbar in Vista.

Well, there is always Right Click/Copy and Right Click/Paste. Works every
time.
CTRL+C also still works for copy, CTRL+X still works for cut, and CTRL+V
still works for paste.

In Windows Explorer, click on Organize to drop down the menu, select Layout,
and check Menu Bar. You will then have the classic menu bar for File, Edit,
View, Tools, and Help. Is that what you would like to get?

Almost, but not exactly, on the Menu Bar with "File", "Edit", "View",
I would like to have "Copy" and "Paste" at the same level, just like in XP,
but it seems like it isn't possible, unless I missed something.

Yes, I know that, but that wasn't what I asked about.

You actually use copy/cut/paste icons in the Explorer menu bar in XP?

That's doing it the hard way. The previously mentioned methods are
quicker and easier.

He wants the purdy little icons (that if I recall I never bothered
enabling or I disabled in XP).

It isn't?
Oh. I must have misunderstood the part of your post that read "I want to
know how to copy and past (sic) in Windows Explorer."
So sorry.
Please right click my reply and send it to your Recycle Bin.

By the way, do you know how I could add a "Never try to help this guy again"
icon to my toolbar?
Thank you in advance for any information you could provide.

TweakVI puts three colored circles on the QL for cut, copy, and paste. I
have done it on Vista x86.

I found those "purdy little icons" very handy, myself, in XP, and 2K,
and 98, and 95. Sure, there are other ways to activate the same
functions (through the "Organize" drop-down menu or via right-clicking
for a context menu), but why MS decided to no longer even allow the
icons as an option, I can't imagine. The lack of those "purdy little
icons" is one of the reasons that I prefer using a good file manager
like xplorer2 over windows explorer in Vista.

It is a shame that the toolbar is not cutomisable, at least as much as it
was in previous versions of Windows. This toolbar replaces the XP toolbar,
as well as the XP Common Tasks pane, and instead of combining their
usefulness, it is mostly a completely pointless waste of space.

Me. I'm a context menu kinda guy. I even do that in file managers (e.g.
Total Commander, xplorer, Servant Salamander, Krusader [Unix/Linux]
etc). I find it's just quicker.

I honestly didn't realize the toolbar items you want were missing in
Vista till you mentioned it. :)

I read my post again and you are right, you did respond correctly to my
post, I didn't word it correctly. I thought I asked about the icons on the
menu bar in Windows Explorer. Sorry for the inappropriate reply. I guess I
better go have sex with the wife and not be so grumpy!

IE allows you to add the cut copy paste icons to the toolbar, but
explorer has no customize option for the toolbar just under the menu
bar.
