Is there a way not to display every single Word Window you have open on the tool bar?

If you mean on the Windows Taskbar (at bottom of screen), choose Tools, Options in Word, on the View tab, uncheck "Windows in Taskbar".

I do not have a "Windows in Taskbar" box to check in Tools/Options/View????
