Too much ram?

If your mother-board will support it, it is not too much RAM. With that much
RAM there should be no RAM related problems with games. Whether you will
gain any advantage is a different issue. 512 Mbs is sufficient for most
anything, 1 Gig is probably "over-kill".

With 2 gigs RAM, I would recommend turning off Virtual Memory. Physical
memory is, conservatively speaking, about 1000 times faster than virtual
memory.

Don't have the details but, from what I understand, no matter how much RAM
you have, XP still needs some virtual memory to function properly. I read
something about a minimal amount, it was very low but, some. At any rate, it
will not hurt to leave some VM anyway.

Well I've got 1.5 gigs of DDR with NO pagefile in use. My system runs
better than it ever has. There might be some 3rd party apps written that
require you to have a pagefile, but I dont think XP requires
it.(although I could be wrong)

I'm using a Commodore 64. I was hoping to
get a 286 for Christmas.

When you put in your wish list, go for a Mac, Big Mac that is.

I thought I liked Big Mac's, till I found the secret that was in the sauce.

Guess it's back to Beanie Weenies for me.
