TOO MANY PROGRAMS STARTUP

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Click on the Startup tab and uncheck the program(s) you
don't want to startup, then click on "apply".

Hay Carey don't forget to tell him when it restarts

he'll have to check the box don't show me this again.And
if he would like the unchecked entry's removed he can go
to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and
check the line for remove unchecked entry from
msconfig,so he won't have to run selective start-up.
