too many indexes

I am trying to link an ODBC table, but I am getting a message that says there
are too many indexes on the table and to delete some of the indexes. The
help says there is a limit of 32 indexes. I was able to link in the past.
Any ideas to solve the problem.

The first place I would check is the underlying table, to see how it is
indexed.
