Toggle between programs and slide show

I am trying to do one of two things:

1st - I have a program that updates realtime with important statistics. I
know how to pull a live webpage into a presentation, but this program isn't
web based, nor can it be. Is there any way to scrape information from this
updating program and put it into a looping power point?

2nd - If there isn't a way to do what I mentioned above, is there a way to
automatically toggle between a looping power point and this updating program?
Ideally, I would want to show the presentation, show the program, and then
show the presentation again and so forth.

You can use ALT TAB to toggle. Dont think powerpoint can read the updating
info directly though

Do you meet a button in the show?

If so insert an action button and in the action settings hyperlink it other
file (the data file needed). Open the data file (for speed otherwise it will
have to load) and run the pres. On the data file minimise to get back to
powerpoint.
