TOC - matching TOC fonts with text fonts

Why do the font styles in the TOC not reflect the font styles used in the
identified headings in the text? I've applied "Small Caps" to one of my
heading styles, and I want the TOC to reflect the fonts used in the text.

The TOC styles and heading styles are formatted independently. If you want
the TOC entries in small caps, you must define the appropriate TOC styles as
using small caps.
