Papajohn:

I think you can helpme with this issue:

I have a DVD hitachi camera that make video files in format .VRO . What I
did, I dowload the file to my pc, then I change the extension . VRO for .AVI
(Actually I could change it by any video format MPEG etc)
I want to make a video edition with MS Moviemaker and I import little files
(videoclips) that I have in my pc that I did with an small photo camera.
Until this point everithing is ok.
The problem is when I want to import the file that I download from my DVD
camera
A message like this pups up :C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My
Videos\clara.avi could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to
fire events from.
I try to fix the problem changing the extension to each extension available
but no one works.
Give me a hand with that Please

Thanks in advance and God bless you

Please do not create multiple threads for the
same subject. It gets very confusing to follow.

PapaJohn already told you to convert the files to
a compatible format. Simply renaming the files
with a different extension is not a conversion.

Read the article he directed you to:

changing the file extension doesn't change the type of file it is... if you
changed your last name, you would still be you....

you need to do an actual file conversion to get the file into an AVI file
type.

see my website's Import Movie Source Files for pointers

Hi John... nothing to be sorry about.... too many responses are much better
than too few. I've changed my method of reading newsgroup posts, hiding all
but those I didn't read. In this way I won't even know or remember who else
said what... not even myself.

Part of my 'resting' from the vacation is to roll out a new website to share
some of the 9,200 pictures and 20 hours of video we took... here's the link

http://www.papajohn.org/Europe301.html

It's just getting off the ground.

I had a look at the vacation site...

Wow! that's nice...

No way would I ever have the patience or
discipline to create something so organized
and professional looking.

You-da-man!
